STOCKX

LIVESTOCK TRADING

DESIGN & USER EXPERIENCE LEAD

Taking out the middleman and allowing farmers to trade livestock directly with each other.

Working closely with the Dev and Test leads I led a small team of UX designers and FED's as we built this well received site from start to finish.

Day long design sessions with the product owner were the cornerstone to this sites success. It gave us a great headstart each sprint, giving us more time to explore and refine.

More details
Homepage. Displays the most recent livestock listings and classified adverts.
I fought hard for this page. The original spec only gave customers the ability to search for specific livestock for sale, this removed any casual browsing capability limiting users to a singular view of StockX's potential.
Users can filter the view by stock class, breed, region and price.
Site was designed to be fully responsive without the need for HTML reconfiguring.
By having a smart stacking order we maintained the visual hierarchy between break-points, without the need for developer input. This saved the project around 25 hours.
Sometimes it's the less glamourous aspects of a site you're most proud of.
For StockX it's definitely the FAQ's and Terms and Conditions. Over 1400 lines of content / code condensed into easily digestable accordion dropdowns. Not glamorous but a very solid UX / VD and Fed solution.
Default images don't need to be boring.
These are conditional depending stock class listed.
